Evermotion Texture Cache (ENG)

Only upload once!

At RenderFlow our aim is to make your rendering experience as fast, smooth and seamless as possible. With over a 1000 high-performance render nodes, there’s no doubting our capacity to render high quality stills and animations scenes fast, but there was always a small delay as your files are uploaded to our farm.

Introducing RenderFlow's Evermotion Texture Cache, an innovative new feature that preserves uploaded textures and proxies on the farm, to be reused at any time for future renders and new scenes. There’s more! Assets from Evermotion, are already stored on our servers, meaning you’ll never need to transfer them, saving a huge amount of time and bandwidth.o

Introducing the RenderFlow Asset Cache As ArchViz artists demand increasingly sophisticated renders, the size and number of textures and proxies has increased. A typical scene could include hundreds of high resolution textures and memory-hungry proxies. As artists regularly re-use these assets it makes no sense to upload them anew for every render.

When you send your scenes to RenderFlow, you’ll never upload the same asset twice thanks to the RenderFlow Asset Cache.

How does it work? RenderFlow’s Asset Cache has two levels: a global repository and a local library

Global Repository, including Evermotion The global repository is available now for all users, and currently includes textures from Evermotion. Any time you use an Evermotion asset in your scene, Synchro identifies it and uses the textures already on our system instead of uploading them from your machine. This can reduce file sizes by up to 80%.

Local Library, built from cumulative uploads The local library cache retains all the textures that you send to the farm so that they can be re-used. When you render using Synchro, the system checks to see if any of the assets have changed, if not they’re accessed from the library instead of requiring you to upload them all again. This feature allow you to repeat and refine renders by just uploading the .max file, and gets more efficient the more that you render.

Fully Editable You’re in control! The local library is fully editable. You could, for example, upload regularly used maps to our servers to significantly speed up future renders. To access the library use an FTP client and head to ftp.renderflow.com. Use your usual username and password to log in and you’ll find all your previous assets in the MAPS folder. Be careful editing these though, they’re in use by render nodes if you have an active job.

Try it now, it’s easy!

RenderFlow Asset Cache couldn’t be easier to use. There’s no need to do anything, Synchro and the 3ds Max plugin takes care of all the hard work for you, working automatically and invisibly to check all jobs sent to RenderFlow and only upload exactly what’s needed.

We hope you enjoy using this exciting new feature. Happy rendering with RenderFlow!
